In 2013, the Office of the Chief Information Officer, in partnership with a goup of campus IT representatives, hosted the first Information Technology (IT) Summit at the University of Arizona for IT employees. Event highlights included opening remarks from University of Arizona President Ann Weaver Hart, an inspiring keynote speech by Dr. Allan Hamilton, 16 informative breakout sessions, an interactive poster session, and much more.
For many of the 400 information technology professionals that attended the UA IT Summit, it was their first opportunity to formally connect with their peers from other colleges and departments, exchange ideas, discuss IT trends, and share best practices.
Thanks to the support of industry sponsors, the IT Summit was free for participants to attend and was completely underwritten by six sponsors: World Wide Technology, Inc., EMC Corporation, Cisco, IBM, Adobe and VMware.
