Leveraging D2L for Student Employees

The Office of Student Computer Resources (OSCR), has a student staff of roughly 40-50 students at any given time. After much soul searching and consideration regarding the natural shelf life of our workforce we wanted to deploy a system that would help train our staff as well as leverage tools we already had in place. Our student employee development program consists of D2L training modules in various software and technology disciplines, as well as basic OSCR operational tasks. Students review the materials and take a test just like they would in class. The goal is that once they’ve completed the requirements they would progress to a more skilled position and greater opportunities at work.
