A Better Life for (Sys)Admins
Web services have become the ubiquitous way to connect different computing services across the internet. Historically this has meant standing up a server somewhere, installing Apache, MySQL, or nginx, and then writing your service code. With the rise of serverless architecture — such as AWS Lambda and API Gateway — and managed cloud services — such as AWS RDS, and others — many of these workloads can be moved to a managed or serverless model. This means fewer servers to administer, maintain, patch and monitor.
A Better Life for (Business)Admins

From Reserved Instances to Serverless, we will explore some ways in which you can manage these costs while still enjoying all the benefits of the cloud. We’ll do this using the real-world experience of the College of Humanities Web Services team’s journey up and into the cloud.
