Thinking Like a Robot: Applying Computational Thinking Techniques to Developing Online Courses

What do puzzles in the Sunday newspaper, driving a rover on the surface of Mars, and developing a successful online course have in common? Each can use a process called Computational Thinking to take a complex problem and break it down into solvable pieces that get you to the goal. Attendees will have the chance to apply each of the core concepts of computational thinking to solve a set of challenges using a programmable robotics platform. Once the method is understood (and the robot saved from a horrible end), a framework for applying computational thinking to the development of online classes will be introduced.
