Video sharing websites, such as YouTube, can potentially teach patients knowledge about chronic disease self-care knowledge and improve the condition. However, such effect has never been empirically confirmed. We use deep learning technologies to confirm that user engagement can indeed be affected by encoded medical information in YouTube videos.
